Canada's official national sports are ice hockey and lacrosse. But there’s an almost endless list of sports that you can enjoy in the Saint John Region at youth and amateur levels. Sign up to play cricket, pickleball, football (soccer), golf, baseball, tennis, skiing, ringette, badminton, volleyball, cycling, swimming, bowling, rugby union, canoeing, equestrian, squash, and the study of martial arts. The region’s schools, associations and community organizations offer a variety of competitive sporting programs for you and your family.

Skating

Maritimers love local hockey, and the Saint John Region is home to many local arenas. Each offers public skating times, family skates, and other special events. And during the winter months, outdoor rinks pop up all over.

TD Station

One of TD Station’s greatest assets is its connection by indoor walkways to many amenities in Uptown Saint John. The “Inside Connection” links the facility to hotels, shopping centres, restaurants, bars, and indoor parking—all within walking distance.

Canada Games Aquatic Centre

Built to host the 1985 Canada Summer Games, the Canada Games Aquatic Centre has the only 50-metre pool in New Brunswick. The competition pool has two one-meter springboards, two three-meter springboards, and one five-meter diving platform. The leisure pool area includes the tots pool, leisure pools, hot tubs (adults and families), and the public dry and steam saunas. The leisure pool has multiple features such as waterfalls and a spiral slide! The centre also offers a Functional Fitness Studio, Multipurpose Room (MPR), and Fitness Centre.

YMCA of Southwest New Brunswick

The YMCA of Southwest New Brunswick has a trained and caring team dedicated to you, and a community of members who will encourage you every step of the way. The YMCA boasts state-of-the-art fitness centres and tons of group exercise classes. There is no better place for you to belong.

Irving Oil Field House

The Field House gives newcomers the chance to play the sports they love, like cricket, soccer, pickleball, and more. Join in for weekly sports nights on one of the indoor turf fields!

QPlex

The qplex is a multi-purpose recreation and conference centre. Enjoy the opportunity to skate on the NHL-sized ice surface, stroll along the indoor walking track, and grab a snack at the canteen. A YMCA of Greater Saint John Inc. community centre is on site with a family leisure and junior Olympic swimming pool and playground. A rinkside Sport Shop is also available for your sporting equipment needs.
