Transportation

In the Saint John Region, most people get around day-to-day using one of two transportation methods: public transit, and personal automobile.

Public transportation is provided by bus, and the region’s bus system provides access to most neighbourhoods. Depending on where you live, you will likely be able to depend on public transit to travel to work, recreation activities, shops, and grocery stores.

Many people in the Saint John Region choose to own a car, and some families have more than one vehicle. Using a car is sometimes a little more convenient than taking the bus, but it costs a lot to own one. If you do own a car, you’ll find paid parking is available in the Uptown centre, with free-of-charge parking in other areas of the region.

Cycling and walking are other popular methods of travel within the City.
